As a dedicated pediatric resident with a passion for neonatology, I am committed to advancing my expertise in neonatal care. My extensive experience during pediatric residency, coupled with hands-on exposure in NICUs, has solidified my interest in pursuing a neonatology fellowship in Canada. I aim to contribute to and learn from a multidisciplinary team, enhancing my skills to provide the highest quality care for newborns and premature infants. My long-term goal is to integrate cutting-edge neonatal practices into my clinical work, ultimately improving outcomes for vulnerable newborns.
During my internship, I gained hands-on experience across various departments, including Internal Medicine with Psychiatry, Surgery with Anesthesia, ENT, Ophthalmology, Casualty, Pediatrics, OBGYN, and Orthopedics. I managed chronic and acute medical conditions, assisted in surgeries and anesthesia care, and handled emergency cases in the Casualty department. My rotations in Pediatrics and OBGYN involved neonatal care, deliveries, and managing gynecological conditions. Additionally, I developed skills in ENT and Ophthalmology, including minor procedures, and in Orthopedics, where I managed fractures and musculoskeletal injuries. This diverse experience enhanced my clinical skills and adaptability.
During my Community Medicine internship, I gained hands-on experience in public health by participating in immunization drives, maternal and child health programs, and health education campaigns. I conducted health surveys, organized health camps, and collaborated with local healthcare workers to address public health concerns, including disease outbreaks. This experience deepened my understanding of the social determinants of health and honed my skills in health communication, data collection, and community engagement.
