Abuse Investigation & Prevention acts as the first line of defense for AWS by analyzing trends and reporting findings to AWS service teams as needed. In short, we are known as the Security Team who prevents other Abusive activities for the
Resources, Contents and the Websites that are been hosted using AWS Platform

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Communicate recommended business continuity preparations and controls, including deficiencies, to business units and continuously evaluate
    communication security, data vulnerability, business continuity and compliance risks
  • Identifying the Intrusion Attempt attacks generating from AWS IP, and ensuring that logs are read through thoroughly to prevent further unauthorized activity.
  • Collaborate with business partners, platform,& product SMEs to communicate security risks and devise security solutions as per Amazon’s
    security standards.
  • Clearly document and define risks and potential impacts along with the statistical probability of such an event and identify systems affected by the
    defined risk.
  • Engaging legal Teams to understand each country Laws, policies, and ensuring necessary decisions are made before actioning highly sensitive contents.
  • Perform checks on the reported content and analyze websites that are claimed by the reporter to be a Spam, Phishing or Malware.
  • Verify & prioritize incoming abuse reports which are against the Amazon’s Acceptable Use Policy (AUP).
    Assess and understand the current cloud security posture and future architecture to avoid potential compromise of the resources
  • Develop security and privacy related artifacts within project teams through active collaboration.
  • Provide risk analysis of Information systems including vulnerability assessment, an assessment of regulatory compliance and gap analysis on
    AWS.
  • Documenting Root cause analysis (RCA) to implement solutions for potential high impacting issues.
