Description: First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) is the largest bank in the United Arab Emirates, formed by the merger of First Gulf Bank and the National Bank of Abu Dhabi. It offers a wide range of financial services, including corporate, consumer, private, and investment banking, as well as payment and management services.
Role: IBM MQ Administrator.
Responsibilities:
- Conducted daily health checks in IBM MQ to ensure optimal system performance.
- Participated in stand-up and incident calls to address real-time issues.
- When troubleshooting issues occur, we check the error logs, transaction logs, and FDC.
- We have four environments; for two environments, we are the owners, so we are doing OS patching through Red Hat Satellite Portal.
- Implemented version upgrades and fix packs following vendor patches, securing necessary approvals.
- Managed renewal of expiring SSL certificates to maintain security standards.
- Resolved vulnerabilities based on scan reports during scheduled maintenance activities.
- Created queues and took message backups per application team requests, taking a readable format, and sharing them to ensure compliance with protocols.
- Monitored reported alerts and collaborated with application teams for timely issue resolution.
- Customized MQ configurations using APPDYNAMICS monitoring tool to enhance performance.
- If any messages land in the dead letter queue, we will check and reprocess the messages from the dead letter queue based on the error codes.
- Here we are using these tools: AppDynamics, GitLab, BTPAM, Confluence Page, PagerDuty, Satellite Portal, Citrix, ServiceNow, and JIRA.
- We are using Jira for vulnerabilities, and ServiceNow for incidents and SD requests.
- Creating the change management (CRs) and incidents.
- Involved in disaster recovery activity.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving in IBM MQ 24/7 in production and non-production servers.
