Superannuated as Head of Energy Technology & R&D – NTPC Energy Technology & Research Alliance (NETRA) in 2020. Following is my experience details of 37 years in NTPC.
Joined NTPC Ltd in 1983 and worked in Badarpur Thermal Power station and Anta Gas Power Station and subsequently in Corporate office of NTPC and worked in the area of Water supply, Environmental monitoring, Testing, Inspection, QMS, EMS, OHSMS , Carbon capture & utilization/ sequestration ( Having 3 Patents) , GHG monitoring, Carbon credits, CDM, UNFCCC methodology development for CDM etc and also contributed in the following areas:-
- ISO Integration: Spearheaded the integration of ISO 17025 across NTPC laboratories, covering diverse fields like chemical, environmental, electrical, metallurgical, and mechanical testing.
- Sustainability Projects: Led initiatives aligning R&D projects with corporate social responsibility goals, promoting resource conservation.
- Management Systems: Introduced and implemented EMS and OHSAS in coal and gas-based power plants, enhancing operational efficiency.
- Laboratory Operations: Standardized lab procedures, optimized workflows, and ensured accurate, reproducible results across multiple sites.
- R&D Optimization: Reorganized R&D teams, improving resource allocation and overall productivity.
- Inspections: Conducted inspections for a wide range of materials (coal, oil, chemicals, building materials, etc.), ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
