FINAL YEAR PROJECT, 3D METAL PRINTING BASED ON GMAW BY THE MODIFIED AL-SI ALLOY, Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) is much more cost-friendly than the filament-based technique and easier to print., The Al-Si alloy on modification gives the specimen an increased ductility and much more resistance to surface porosity., These alloys were easy to print but could benefit from alloying to increase ductility and to minimize or redistribute porosity.
