Working on enterprise range Storage environment, which includes trouble shooting, allocating storage space, Taking BCV on Production, monitoring and reporting

▪ Responsible to maintain the SAN environment up to date. Resolving incident and change escalations related to storage, break fix issues and managing 24*7*365 shift coverage.

▪ Worked on incidents and change escalations for all these heterogeneous products. EMC VMAX2/3 VNX.

▪ Used SYMCLI, SMC, Navisphere, and Unisphere, and Command View, open systems from Clarion, VNX, and Symmetrix DMX-3, DMX-4, V-MAX, V-MAX3, Windows, Solaris and Linux servers.

▪ Making sure the Fabric environment is healthy by monitoring the switches using multiple reporting tools. Shutting down the noisy ports, working with Site services and vendors to resolve any hardware issues with Fabric cables or GBICs or array ports.

▪ Troubleshooting routine issues including ports availability, zoning requirements, one-path down, enabling the path on source or destination arrays, data not migrated, host not seeing storage, path degraded between server and storage, connectivity issues.

▪ Monitoring and maintaining majority Brocade.

▪ Implemented Virtual Provisioning from VMAX2/3 arrays to hosts by creating Data devices, thin devices, Thin Pool, binding thin devices to the pool, using SymCLI.

▪ Implemented FAST for moving/swapping complete devices across different tiers, also FAST VP to automate the process of identification of thin device extents and reallocating application data across different performance tiers within an array in virtual provisioned environments.

▪ Worked on Meta Lun expansions to provide additional storage to the host, converting the device personalities based on the requirement.

▪ Worked on Performance issues from storage end, hands on experience checking FA utilization, read/write response times, Identify Least utilized FA pairs, high I/O latency, IOPs on FA level/Device level and I/O utilization issues.

▪ Rezoning/Re masking troubleshoot Switch SFP port issues, Switch logs, Low Tx/Rx power issues on Mcdata, Brocade using CLI and CNCME.

▪ Working on Striped LUN Grows with the use of BCV’s

▪ ISCSI Storage Presentations and troubleshooting iSCSI issues.

▪ Actively working towards RCA whenever a new issue comes and documenting

▪ Actively working with EMC on getting the RCA’s and assisting with required logs from arrays and switches.

▪ Proactively working on performance issues, disk latencies which require perfmon counters and SPA trending data to be analysed and giving customer’s optimized solutions by usage of legacy environment. 

▪ Creating, suggesting enhancements on documentation.

▪ Coordination with site services in all the DC’s for any physical work involving projects and issues.

▪ dealing with issues of thin provisioning (As 70% of customers are on Shared storage infra.)

▪ Resolving long running issues like performance issues by collaborating and working With Customers and Partner teams.

▪ Representing Storage team in Major Incident Bridge calls, resolving any technical issues from storage side ASAP. Investigating and providing on RCAs.

▪ Working with Problem management teams to proactively resolve any SAN related issues.

▪ Working on Projects (Orphaned Storage reclamation, thin pool re-balancing, re-balancing highly utilized arrays) initiatives from engineering / Management team.

▪ Taking the regular backup of brocade fabric configuration.

▪ Provisioning of Thin LUNs including creation, expansion.

▪ Performing SP Collects using Navisphere Manager and daily health checks on Clarion.

▪ Troubleshooting of multi-Pathing issue.

▪ Creating volumes and LUN’s

▪ Working with users for share access issue.

▪ Restore the volumes as per Clint requirement.

▪ Working on Storage arrays code upgrade
