ACHIEVEMENTS-

• Lead the team to successfully execute the CFBC (OEM M/S Thermax- Pune) boiler project of 250TPH (WITH U-BEAM TECHNOLOGY AND NO SOOT BLOWERS) well before the targetted date in March 2019.
• Exceeded goals through effective task prioritization and great work ethic.
• Actively involved in distributing the manpower of the power plant by identifying the areas of excess manpower & transferring the surplus staff to different divisions of the company, where manpower requirement existed.
• Currently involved in the erection of WHRB project of 54 MW capacity at a different location belonging to the parent company.

RESPONSIBILITIES-

• Oversaw daily operations to ensure high levels of OEE( operating equipment efficiency)
• For 2 months after joining this company, I was looking after both (O & M) of the 150MW power plant ( 1 x 80 & 2 x 35 ) with CFBC boilers from Thermax & steam turbines from SIEMENS.
• At present I am in-charge of the maintenance activities of 80 MW power plant and with additional responsibilities of overseeing the project related activities coming-up in the group.
• I am also simultaneously working to execute an IPP with CFBC boiler project of proposed 50 MW capacity at a place 90 kms from Chennai, belonging to the parent company.
• TEAM SIZE - 76 NOS . including DGM - 1nos,. Manager -1nos.

ACHIEVEMENTS -

Joined as the project lead for 1x 30 MW power plant procured from China with CFBC BOILERS (WUXI -PRC) & Steam Turbines (Hangzhou).

• This resulted in getting the project commissioned well before the targetted deadlines.
• Over all in-charge of erection, commissioning, stabilization & troubleshooting of the powerplant and there after leading to looking after the routine operation & the maintenance activities of the plant.
• My main target given by the management was to get the local African manpower trained in various areas of the power plant operation & maintenance within a short time of 90 days.

RESPONSIBILITIES -

• Participated in team-building activities to enhance working relationships.
• Received and processed stock into inventory management system
• Development of Vendors and successfully getting the OEM supply 2 yrs spare parts for the whole power plant without any additional cost.
• Participated in continuous improvement by generating suggestions, engaging in problem-solving activities to support teamwork.
• Establishing good working relationships with local Govt & other external African agencies for ensuring a smooth work-flow in the various power activities, as it was the first CFBC power project in the country of Senegal.
• Convincing the local government Environment & Pollution authorities form time to time especially considering the fact that we were using LCV coal for generating power.
• TEAM SIZE HANDLED -66nos. ( including 1nos. operation head, 1nos each (mech,inst,E&I) heads. 4nos. local managers

ACHIEVEMENTS -

• Devised strategies to reduce expenses, modernize operations and revamp procedures to improve institution operations.
• Cost reduction & Energy conservation savings to the tune of $100k implemented within a period of 2 yrs, thereby utilizing all the resources available in-house for the various schemes.
• Successfully managed and commissioned 2 power projects (both procured form China.
• One project was with PF BOILERS & other with CFBC Technology, able to achieve 100% throughput of the pulverizer (bowl -mill type) after 10 yrs of continuous operation with 100% reliability.
• played a dynamic role in developing HPWT ( high performance work teams ) for the power plant.
• Mastery over finding the hidden bottle-necks in the Chinese erection and engineering practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES-

• Kept all divisions of the power plant financially sound by tracking expenses and maintaining detailed records.
• Cast a hawk's eye on achieving maintenance budget targets of the total power plant.
• Emphasis of cost reduction and minimization of the various losses on a day to day basis.
• Optimize to run the plant in different conditions with respect to varying coal parameters to achieve higher PLF levels.
• Additional responsibility of working as a project manager for the group's petrochemical complex (Indorama ventures) (IPCI) at Purwakarta complex.
• Reduced carbon foot print by energy conservation.
• Conception of RED -TAG area in the premises enabling safe collection of hazardous waste.
• Mooted proposal for setting up briquetting plant ( manufacture of bricks ) from ash which will augment company's policy of re-cycling from waste and additional income.
• TEAM SIZE HANDLED - TOTAL 105nos. (including 5nos. HOD's of all different departments- mechanical,electrical,civil,& safety.

ACHIEVEMENTS -

• Delivered exceptional level of service to each team- member by listening to concerns and answering questions.
• Guided the team with respect to the mechanical erection of 250 Tons of CFBC boiler supplied by IGEC THOMSON (INDIA)
• Reduction of unplanned down time, implementing maintenance & inspection plans leading to reliability and strengthening of infrastructure.
• Execution of new projects, PMA (plant modification authorization) like coal dryers project & expansion of existing coal handling plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES-

• Overseeing project management activities while ensuring they align with the project's commercial strategies along with the purchase teams ( TECHNO - COMMERCIAL)
• Overall responsibility of the power plant operation & maintenance per shift basis as and when required.

ACHIEVEMENTS -

• Played a lead role in arresting on-line steam leakages in the plant with innovative out of the box methods.
• Developed and implemented performance improvement strategies and plans to promote continuous improvement In the Utilities & Power plant area.
• Implementation of 100% safety procedures in compliance with safety regulation in the plant HSE PROCEDURES AND PRACTISES ( 100% SAFETY RECORD ACHIEVED 2 YRS IN A ROW)
• Modification of ESP zone of the coal fired boiler with a cage type mechanism to prevent emitter rods falling on the collecting plates thus short-ckt ing the ESP of the boiler during the normal running & thus creating unwanted outages.

• Responsible for maintaining spares and ensure minimum inventory of all critical spares at all times.
