Project: Agile Transformation for a CIB Bank in Egypt

Role: Agile Consultant

Description: Led an Agile Transformation consultancy engagement for a CIB Bank in Egypt, enabling the bank to kickstart its Agile transformation from scratch. This was the first bank in Egypt seeking an Agile transformation, making it a unique challenge given the newness of Agile practices in the region. Key activities included:

Phase 1:

  • Conducted initial discussions and an in-state probe
  • Proposed an initial Target Operating Model (TOM) and Roadmap
  • Created a detailed Agile Maturity Assessment customized for the client's existing state
  • Conducted Agile Maturity Assessments across different Business Units and presented a detailed report to each Business Head, as well as an overall engagement report

Phase 2:

  • Developed a Target Operating Model based on inputs from the Maturity Assessment Report, needs, and banking compliance requirements
  • Created a Roadmap for implementing the Target Operating Model using a customized Essential SAFe approach
  • Designed a training plan for pilot teams and specialized roles
  • Prepared for the first PI (Program Increment) planning artifacts and meetings
  • Planned for the creation of Agile induction batches
  • Collaborated with other Agile coaches to create training materials
  • Conducted feature storming discussions with Product Owners and Product Managers using a Product Canvas
  • Created a PI vision and feature list
  • Ensured Architecture and Technical readiness for teams

Phase 3:

  • Implemented the Target Operating Model with a pilot project
  • Kicked off PI meetings with relevant activities for pilot teams
