• Negotiation:

Responsible for pricing negotiations by tracking iron ore and coking coal market trends as a backup for negotiations with major steel mills.

• Localisation:

Developed local steel mill JSW for outer panel as a competitive strategy.

Supported the engineering counterpart in optimizing the usage of RM and recycling of scrap for small body parts.

• Supply Planning:

Syncing procurement with the production plan, sales forecast,

Avoiding both shortages and excess inventory.

Maintain strong follow-up with suppliers for timely delivery.

Build buffer/safety stock for critical materials.

Liquidated more than 3,000 MT of steel inventory for a few EOP models by diverting a value of approximately 30 million INR, with management approvals.

• Cost Reduction:

Responsible for generating cost reduction ideas in the field of packaging, logistics, as a material expert.

Part Analysis and Reporting:

• Planning and execution of the raw material budget.
• Periodical status update to management on delivery costs and impact due to raw material fluctuations.
• Developed digital tools to remove cumbersome manual processes and to have a complete track of past data.

Project Management:

• Collaborated with cross-functional teams to align project strategies with organizational goals using insights.
• Developed tailored reports and dashboards, resulting in better project visibility and control.

Non-BOP:

• Sourcing and vendor identification for critical requirement values from 0.1 MINR to 10.5 MINR, with a vast database of suppliers.

Raw Material (Steel) Purchase

• Raw material (steel) planning based on the production plan for in-house and vendor consumption.
• Developed galvanized steel from TATA for platform body parts.
• Handled steel purchase average volume of 30,000 Mt/month.
• Maintaining a car model-wise issue master in the SAP system to have control over the supply of materials to the vendor.
• Raw material coverage monitor periodically done to avoid shortages arising from fluctuations and after-sales in the production plan.
• Price reconciliation for import and domestic mill makers after every price contract renewal for the materials purchased during the negotiation period.
• Preparing various statutory documents for goods movement on a returnable and non-returnable basis.

Scrap Management

• Coordination with new vendors for registration.
• Verification of vendor documents as per government. Norms for statutory requirements.
• Creating new item codes according to material specifications.
• Initiating online bidding or e-bidding through the internal system.
