I am committed to achieving sustainable future goals by restoring ecological balance and enhancing biodiversity. This involves selecting appropriate species and developing sustainable Project Design Documents (PDDs), such as those from Verra and Gold Standard, to quantify carbon credit projects. I also guide technical staff in the field and work on developing cultivation and harvesting protocols.
As an academic instructor, I have the privilege of teaching students at the Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctor of Philosophy levels. Additionally, I assist in refining research theses, helping students enhance their work for successful academic outcomes.
The position offered an opportunity to educate and mentor students across Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctor of Philosophy programs. Additionally, it involves the valuable responsibilities of editing research theses and providing guidance and support throughout the research process.
I held a research position with the UNDP SECURE Himalaya project, where my focus was on studying rare, endangered, and threatened medicinal plants within the Himalayan ecosystem, along with their adaptation processes. My responsibilities included managing meetings and building relationships with stakeholders, as well as contributing to the development of sustainable cultivation and harvesting methods. Additionally, I was involved in efforts to build capacity within the community.
Over three years, we conducted a research project titled "Study on adaptive response of plants to elevated CO2 conditions". Our primary objective was to investigate the adaptive behavior of forestry species, including their physiology, morphology, and biochemical response, when subjected to increased levels of CO2 concentration in a scenario of climate change. Additionally, we aimed to generate baseline data that could be used to predict the future impacts of climate change on forestry species' performance. Our research also involved capacity building and providing suggestions for the selection of appropriate species in a plantation in the era of climate change.
