TPSP team delivers integrated software solutions allowing all of Expedia's customers and partners to contact us for assistance as they travel around the world.
As Senior Manager-Data Engineering, I have:
- Led the effort to build a real time streaming solution based on Kafka & Faust to consume & process all the events starting from Traveler reaching out to Expedia for any post booking query, interacting with bot or agent till the resolution of Traveler's query. All these interaction events are processed and converted to business domain events and loaded to EG Data Lake for operational & analytical reporting use cases.
- Led the effort to build operation reporting to be used by vendor teams for motoring queue & agent performance in real time and take necessary actions based on the data points.
- Led the effort to build analytical reporting for critical KPI tracking: Self Service Rate, Follow-up rates, NPS etc.
- Led the effort to build analytical reporting to get insights around the most used help articles based Travelers click data and enhance the articles and support pages to improve customer experience.
- Led the effort to migrate analytical reporting from Snowflake to Starbust resulted into ~$4M cost saving.
- Led the effort to migrate to Scylla DB from Redis for stateful processing, resulted into ~$400K cost savings.
- Setup alerting & monitoring to make sure our SLA's are met. For real-time reports SLA is 30 seconds and for analytical reporting it's up-to 3 hours.
- Led effort to setup data quality checks based on business rules and setup alerting in case of data quality issues to proactively fix the issues.
- Performed people manager responsibilities - goal setting, development plan, quarterly connects with the team etc.
Worked as Data Engineering Lead in Xapo's Data team. Xapo's data team is responsible for building reporting solution for different business teams like Debit Card team, Growth Team, Money In Money Out team etc. Also, data team supports the ad-hoc reporting request from different business teams which are required for different purposes like Auditing, Reconciliation etc.
- Developed a reporting solution for Xapo's growth team to track the effectiveness and exceptions in rewards implementation. Important metrics tracked were #achievements completed, pay-outs in USD, #user in different reward levels, #users participating in rewards, user raking based on pay-outs.
- Developed reporting solution to track the performance of Debit Card launched by Xapo. Track metrics like #new card issuance, total card usage, approved spend, declined spend, transaction authorization time etc.
- Worked on design, development, deployment and testing of ETL pipelines in AWS Glue.
- Worked on optimization/tuning of existing Glue ETL from 2.5 hours to 2 mins. - Development on Visualization front using Redshift as DB and Superset and Google DS as visualization tool.
- Work on Ad-hoc reporting request from Product, Customer Support, Risk and Compliance teams of Xapo.
- Handling team’s reviews, feedback and one on one’s as part of people management responsibilities.
Worked as Senior Data Engineer in Expedia's Global Customer Operations team where Expedia tracked customer's post booking journey to get insights on improve the customer experience. Also, using the customer interaction's data for workforce management.
As Senior SDE in EDW GCO team, I had:
- Developed real time reporting solution for Expedia contact centers to monitor the queue and agent's performance.
- Developed historical reporting solution to track important KPI's ex: Customer Effort Score, Repeat Purchase Likelihood etc.
- Developed funnel reporting solution to find the effectiveness of self-service flows developed by front end team.
- As a Manager of Data & BI I was leading application development team of 6 members working on Conceptual-ERP integration project running in Eaton.
- Managed vendor team from Deloitte working on CERP project. Worked with vendor team to make sure quality of code, system integration tests. Reviews of the code developed by vendor team.
