SHREYAS HOSUR

I am from the 2012 batch of the Civil Services, belonging to the Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS), with over 10 years of experience in various fields, specializing in administration and finance. I possess strong technological proficiency with expertise in Cyber Security and a comprehensive understanding of Strategic Affairs and International Relations.

As an avid sports enthusiast, I have participated and promoted several athletes taking part at national and international sports events. My passion for sports drives my desire to seek an opportunity with the Sports Authority of India (SAI), where I aim to contribute as an administrator and work towards bringing laurels to the country in the field of sports.

• Conferred with the prestigious ‘Vishwakarma Award’, the second highest award in NTRO (PMO), for outstanding contribution in Cyber Security and Cyber Operations, in April 2019
• Received the prestigious 'Distinguished Alumni Award' at the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of PES University, Bengaluru, in Jan 2024
• Received with the 'Accounts Efficiency Shield' on behalf of Bengaluru Division for being the best performing Finance Unit in South Western Railway, in Jan 2024
• Merit of being the First Officer from the Non-Uniformed Civil Services of India and First Officer from Ministry of Railways to complete the IRONMAN Triathlon consisting of 3.8km Swimming, 180km Cycling and 42.2km Running, at Hamburg, Germany on 5th June 2022
• Completed IRONMAN Kazakhstan & OCEANMAN Amaty, Kazakhstan, in July 2023
• First Civil Servant to trek the Siachen Glacier - the highest battlefield in the world, in Oct/Nov 2015
• Selected as a ‘Global Shaper’ by the Global Shapers Community (Bangalore Hub) of the World Economic Forum (WEF), from Aug 2014 through July 2015
• Received the ‘Best Essay Medal’ by former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam during Civil Services Foundation Course, in Dec 2012
• Have taken part and won several medals and trophies at various endurance sports events like OCEANMAN, 10km Swimming, Aquathlons, Duathlons, Triathlons, etc.
• Represented India to swim the English Channel in a relay event in July 2009

• Secretary, Bengaluru Division Sports Assocation (BDSA) : As Secretary of the Bengaluru Division Sports Association, I manage around 80 athletes across seven major disciplines, including Swimming, Badminton, Athletics, Table Tennis, Cricket, and Shooting. My responsibilities encompass the administration of athletes recruited by railways under the sports quota, addressing their establishment issues, overseeing their coaching, and providing additional support such as nutrition and physiotherapy. I also ensure their participation in national-level competitions. I am also in-charge of development of sports infrastructure in the Division. Currently, under my initiative, a flood-lit state-of-the-art Cricket practice arena, Volleyball & Throwball arena, and a five-a-side Football arena is under development.
• Executive Committee Member & Project Head - "Project Tri-Quest : Redesigning Triathlon Landscape in Karnataka", TRIATHLON ASSOCIATION OF KARNATAKA : As a core member of Triathlon Association of Karnataka, my role has been to promote the sport of triathlon in the state of Karnataka. As a part of this initiative, I ensure the conduct of three triathlons in the state in the last one year, at Udupi, Mysuru & Chikkaballapur. The three events saw participation of more than 700 athletes from across the country. In the competitive category, I successfully conducted state-level selection trials to choose male and female athletes to represent Karnataka at the National Games in Goa. This role required extensive coordination with the Indian Triathlon Federation and Karnataka Olympic Association. I also provided coaching facilities, physiotherapy and nutrition support, secured sponsorship, and planned logistics. As a result of these efforts, one of our athletes, Yajat Aiyappa, secured second place at the national level.
• Vice-President, Open Water Swimming Foundation (OWSF) : As Vice President of the Open Water Swimming Foundation in Karnataka, my primary goal is to promote open water swimming among enthusiasts. This involves conducting awareness sessions, creating a safe environment for open water swims, training support staff, and addressing safety and emergency response issues. My role requires coordination with District Administration, Police, Department of Youth Affairs & Sports, Fire & Emergency Services, and the Tourism Department. Recently, I successfully led an open water swimming event with over 200 participants. Additionally, we regularly conduct open water swim sessions and clinics under the aegis of OWSF.
