Implemented end-to-end infrastructure for 2 applications – 1 customer facing mobile application and 1 web application for 2 types of internal users.
Designed a hub and spoke based architecture for microservices based backend using AKS, ACR, PostgreSQL and Redis. Hub was used for centralized logging and common resources like CDN and ACR. Each spoke was corresponding to a deployment environment.
Extensively implemented terraform to create/manage azure cloud infrastructure.
Deployed a set of microservices on Azure Kubernetes services using docker, helm and Azure DevOps pipelines.
Created alerts & monitoring dashboard using Prometheus & Grafana for all microservices deployed in Azure Cloud.
Integrated 2 different systems for authentication as there were 2 different applications.
Integrated backend microservices with variety of 3rd party systems such as Sightcall, sendgrid and twillio as well as azure services such as Keyvault, Storage account and Redis.
Designed pipelines to implement continuous integration steps such as unit testing, security scans and docker build as well as CD using the docker image tag and helm charts for backend microservices.
Integrated the backend microservices with Azure APIM and implemented authentication policies for the 2 different auth systems.
Created quality gates in SonarQube dashboard and enforced in the pipelines to fail the builds when conditions not met.
Maintained and monitored production environments for high availability, scalability, and performance.
Created detailed documentation of processes, procedures, and standards utilized in the environment.
Introduced canary & blue-green deployment strategies for microservices to reduce downtime and for safe rollback strategy.
