• Manage end-to-end import shipments (air and sea) from purchase order to final delivery.
• Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, CHAs, and transporters to ensure timely shipment executions.
• Handle advance filing (IGM/BOE) to avoid customs penalties.
• Verify shipping documents: commercial invoice, packing list, AWB/BL, COO, insurance, etc.
• Ensure correct HSN code classification and duty calculation.
• Coordinate with CHA for customs clearance, and resolve customs queries.
• Manage cargo conversion (courier to cargo mode) when required for commercial clearance.

Compliance and Licensing -

• Applied for and managed import licensing, such as BIS, SIMS, NFMIMS, FTA, and COO.
• Handle FTA documentation to claim preferential duty benefits under trade agreements.

Cost Optimization -

• Evaluated and negotiated spot air freight quotes with forwarders for urgent Flash Mode imports, balancing transit timelines, and freight cost efficiency.

System and Reporting -

• Work on SAP for shipment processing and documentation.
• Maintain shipment tracking and MIS reports for management review.
• Process import of GRNs and post MIRO entries in SAP.

Key Initiatives and Process Improvement-

• Organized a workplace event to identify operational challenges, mapped key issues, and structured a yearly PDCA improvement plan.
• Gained an end-to-end understanding of EWM processes, from inbound to outbound operations.

• Supported SPS assessment and updated compliance checklist items.
• Reviewed the Perpetual Inventory (PI) process and suggested FIFO, Kanban, and training improvements.
• Implemented Min/Max inventory control to reduce stock imbalance.
• Gained exposure to export-import documentation and shipment processes.
• Reviewed RFQ technical specifications, and assisted in workflow optimization.
