Current Role Summary:

As part of my role leading production application support for the Payment Gateway platform, I am accountable for ensuring stability, security, and automation across critical services operating under a stringent 99.999% uptime SLA.

Key contributions and responsibilities include:

Stability & Incident Reduction: Improved overall application stability by reducing incidents by 50% in FY25 compared to FY24. This was achieved through the implementation of a structured change management process with strict risk classification and approval protocols, as well as proactive collaboration with Software and Platform Engineering teams to drive permanent resolutions. On a need basis, I initiated and led focused hackathons to address major customer-impacting issues.

Security & Compliance: Ensured 100% coverage of the Qualys vulnerability assessment tool across all Gateway servers, including those in Americas, EMEA, Australia, and New Zealand. Qualys provides daily metrics on patching status and plays a key role in achieving the target of 100% patch compliance within 30 days and a zero-vulnerability environment.

Security & Compliance:As part of the RHEL7 decommissioning initiative, successfully migrated 443 servers to Rocky Linux 8 across FY25 Q1, Q2, and Q3, aligning with internal security policies and reducing risk from deprecated operating systems.

Automation & Efficiency: Developed and deployed scripts to automate key operational tasks, including:Load Balancer traffic management,Disk management,Automatic restart of services running in private clouds, Post-implementation validation checks.These automations significantly reduced manual effort, improved execution speed, and minimized human error.

Operational Leadership: Initiated and facilitated a weekly Global Operations Review with Software Engineering, covering wins, lowlights, escalations, quick hits, and key metrics—serving as a vital forum for operational visibility, prioritization, and cross-functional alignment.

Operational Leadership: Mandated weekly and monthly Business Reviews with all Platform Engineering and Application teams to track roadmap progress, celebrate wins, address missed goals, and escalate blockers, creating stronger accountability and delivery focus across the organization.

Strategic Migration & Performance: Contributed to the successful migration of 35 gateway Services to AWS EKS across EMEA, US, and APAC region.As part of this transition, services have been modernized from traditional release packages to containerized deployments.This shift has enabled automatic scaling and high availability, significantly improved operational efficiency while reducing infrastructure costs. Previously, scaling server capacity required manual intervention, often leading to over-provisioning to prevent downtime. With the adoption of the AWS EKS platform, server capacity is now dynamically provisioned based on actual demand and managed automatically, ensuring optimal resource utilization and enhanced reliability.

Observability: Rolled out New Relic monitoring and Golden Rule alerting for containerized services across EMEA, US, and AU regions, replacing AppDynamicsand also Implemented ELK dashboards and alerts based on log filters.

• Design, implement, and maintain performance testing frameworks and tools (e.g., JMeter and LoadRunner).
• Conduct load, stress, endurance and capacity testing for APIs, services, and platforms.
• Analyze system behavior under various conditions to identify performance bottlenecks and recommend optimizations.
• Collaborate with application teams, SREs, and infrastructure teams to build performance baselines and SLOs.
• Create detailed performance reports and communicate results to engineering and leadership.
• Continuously monitor system performance using tools like Grafana, ELK, AppDynamics, etc.
• Work on tuning JVM, databases, caching layers, queues, and other infrastructure components for optimal performance.
