Work History

Senior Branch Manager

Rinl- Vsp
04.2021 - Current
  • There were two branches called T&AS (Tenders and Auction Sales) and By Products. The two branches were merged into one, and I was made the first Sr. Branch Manager for the branch - BSO - By Products and Co Products (BP&CoP).
  • The Co Products deals with iron and steel scrap, and arising products, like short lengths in BLOOMS and TMT. The accumulated stocks and undisposed scrap lying in different areas are identified by forming a cross-functional team.
  • The offered quantity for sale is successfully auctioned and disposed of at the best price.
  • The total scrap sold during the tenure to date is around 250,000 MT, and it achieved a sales turnover of 1,000 crores.
  • · The arising blooms are successfully disposed of in auctions with participation from across India.
  • · Developed and executed strategic growth plans for expanding the branch's market share and client base. Nearly 450 customers were added to the RINL customer base from across India, which enabled active and competitive participation in auctions of co-products. Developed a new Telegram channel exclusively for RINL auction sales, with wide publicity.
  • Built strong relationships with key clients, resulting in increased loyalty and repeat business. The BFG slag regular generation is tied up with long-term agreements from cement manufacturers like Dalmia, UltraTech, My Home, Ramco, Sagar, KCP, Zuari, Nagarjuna Cements, etc.
  • New small-scale GGBS units are encouraged, and nearly 15,000 to 20,000 MT per month is the current consumption.
  • Also, developed one new micro GGBS manufacturer to promote BFG slag sales of RINL.
  • A new customer base was developed for the merchant export of BFG slag to Bangladesh, the UAE, and Middle Eastern countries.
  • The legacy stocks now left are around 2 million MT and are in the process of tying up with small crushing and screening to make the material fit for cement or GGBS manufacturing.
  • Implemented innovative marketing strategies that contributed to branch revenue growth and higher customer retention rates. The stock of 1 million MT of limestone and dolomite screening material that was lying in the dump was brought into sales and successfully disposed of around 0.3 million MT, and a MoU was successfully signed with NMDC STEEL LIMITED for the supply. The regular generation is sold as and when available, and hence, the legacy stocks are getting depleted.
  • All the COCCP products are sold on time, and there has not been a single case of chokage at any point in time to date.
  • The bulk sales of LD/STEEL slag are being explored with CRRI-certified customers. The consistent performance of RS 1,200 crores per year from the BSO - BP&CoP.
  • Increased branch profitability by implementing cost-saving measures and optimizing resource allocation.
