- Proficiently coordinate ship repair activities with project engineers encompassing welding, painting, engineering and hull work, with a primary focus on enhancing reliability throughout the process
- Ensure seamless communication and collaboration among these project engineers and their teams to prevent delays and conflicts, ultimately optimizing ship repair efficiency and effectiveness
- Have to work closely with maintenance teams to plan and schedule routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of various equipment, so that machinery operation is optimized resulting in safety, reliability and efficiency of the equipment
- Actively collaborate with senior engineers to assist in coordinating various initiatives aimed at enhancing the production sector of shipyard
- Maintain continuous involvement with original equipment manufacturers and vendors in order to build a strong relation with them and get a more negotiated rate or discount for their service
- Also identify the sub-contractors who does work effectively and in less time or within the deadline provided by us
- Working with seniors in arriving a solution for the gaps they are facing and actively contribute in identifying areas for improvement in projects, guided by the expertise of senior engineers.
- Resource allocation - Efficiently manage resources, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors and reliability considerations, to meticulously oversee ship repair projects. Ensure these projects adhere to timelines, remain within budget constraints and maintain a high level of reliability throughout.
- Documentation - Preparing work orders for the sub-contractors to carry work on time and sanctioning their payment after the work is completed. Requesting the coast guard for the requirement of spare by providing indent and quotation, so that the approval can be received.
- Assessment and inspection - Conducting a thorough inspection of quality in welding of pipeline, plates, painting of hull and assessment of the ship to Identify all repair needs. NDT inspection done on plates and pipelines are also supervised.
