Strategic Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement of materials and services.
Cost Reduction: Make strategies to reduce costs by negotiating with existing suppliers.
Indirect/Opex purchasing: For spare parts of maintenance, production equipment, consumables, IT purchasing, and services.
Capex Purchasing: Develop and execute sourcing strategies for capital equipment, machinery, infrastructure, and long-term assets. Collaborate with engineering, project management, and finance teams to understand CAPEX project needs and timelines.
Negotiation: Negotiate the quotation for costs, terms, and conditions that protect the organizational policies.
Floating inquiries: Float RFQ with multiple vendors and get the quotations. Making comparisons for understanding the differences and making decisions based on overall cost and benefit, including price, duty, freight, flexibility, service, performance, quality, etc.
Supplier Audits and Evaluations: Conduct supplier visits for audits to evaluate performance.
Import Purchasing: Identify and select overseas suppliers for raw materials, components, or finished goods, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness. Co-ordinate with freight forwarders to ensure timely and efficient delivery of important goods.
Import Documentation: Manage all import-related documentation, such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, etc. To ensure compliance with customs regulations.
Cost management: Monitor landed costs, including duties, freight, insurance, and handling, to maintain cost control and support pricing strategies.
International Supplier Relation Management: Establish and maintain strong communication with international suppliers to manage lead times, quality, and service levels.
Team Mentorship: Guide and support junior buyers or procurement staff, sharing best practices and industry knowledge.
