Project: CSS 675T L4B RPO Purge Pump Change
Study ECR was written to Replace Purge Pump Assembly in CSS 675T
Engine due to some warranty issues from the previous supplier which required to modify the purge pump mounting bracket to be redesigned for proper packaging with other engine surrounding components and Mounted Purge Pump bracket securely onto the intake manifold frame using M6 Bolts Aligned the bracket with the intake manifold mounting holes, ensuring a snug fit for the unit Installed rubber gaskets between the bracket and the Pump to prevent any vibration or damage during operation and sent bracket for digital validation to simulation team for checking stability and functionality of the newly designed bracket. Checked the packaging with surrounding components, packaging envelops checking so that no other parts are in close proximity to purge pump assembly, after completion of design created drawings for purge pump assembly and its components. Received Appreciation for completing the project on time from DRE and Program management team.
The major highlights on this project are
The Purge pump itself is a new design which used to replace old purge pump which had reliability and warranty issues so we need to have a good location of the purge pump position so that it can perform its operation optimally without any issues.
Project: CSS 675T Purge Tube Design
The above project required us to design a new purge tube assembly which connects with purge pump assembly on the engine side and a air induction module on the vehicle side which will be mounted on front compartment of the Vehicle. This requirement wanted us to meet all the packaging (DMU), Clearance and strict manufacturing conditions. Designed unique purge tube assembly connecting purge pump assembly to air induction module, meeting GM design standards for packaging, clearance, and manufacturing requirements. I carefully examined all the surrounding parts and routed the purge tube as per GM design standards which met Packaging, clearance and manufacturing. For this project i got an appreciation from program management team.
