Influence of suspension design in Modular platform family to achieve ride attributes of Individual Products Vehicle

  • To carry out literature survey & to design as well as build virtual models template, subsystems (includes suspensions hard points, spring mounting location, stiffness of spring, damping ratio ) in MBD Software (ADAMS CAR), Pre and Post processing through Hyper mesh and ADAMS CAR via MNF generation,
  • To carry out virtual tests (CRC test, Acceleration Test) for the designed models through MNF generation, as well as vehicle testing through DAQ systems in a Profound Track,
  • To validate the MBD model with real time ride test to achieve the optimal results i.e co relating the real time results with test data and plotting them in Excel sheet for optimal results (optimization study), Validation of simulation with test result and again refining simulation methods to achieve the desired result

 Challenges Faced: a) ride quality of a vehicle in modular platform yet not been performed b) Connectivity of Vehicle ride test with MBD software has not been performed c) Damping test of a particular suspension set up turned out to be more expensive in terms of a masters project

 Future Scope: a) Mathematical modeling for the front suspension can be developed to determine the damping characteristics.

Design & Development of Single Seated Electric Vehicle

  • To carry out Suspension Analysis of front and rear end of the vehicle in ANSYS WB as well as assistance in chassis design to the design team in CATIA v5,
  • Static & Dynamic Analysis for the Chassis structure and find out the maximum Stress generating points,
  • Assistance in welding and grinding of profiles during fabrication with team members,
