Product Marketing Manager

Experience: As part of the core content team within Hike, I have worked on curating,
creating, managing and posting news content on Hike News on a daily basis. I have
published news stories for all beats like India, World, Business, Sports Tech,
Entertainment, Offbeat, Lifestyle on the app for millions of users to read. I manage
notifications for news and cricket microapp. I also worked on other microapps such
as Hike Daily, Showbiz and Game of the Day within Hike, and have been part of the
end-to-end process of these microapps including revamping a few and re-launching.
I have worked on curating quotes, facts and Bollywood videos and trends for the
microapps.
Other than this, I also work and coordinate with the product, design, tech team
(including front end and back end), business development and social media team on
a daily basis for regular operational tasks.
I also learned how to edit queries and pull out daily data and analyse them as all of
the above mentioned tasks require monitoring data and working accordingly.
The goal has been to organically get as many users as possible, with high retention
rate, on the app with 'time spent' graph pointing upwards all the time.
Apart from all this, I also work with the sticker team to ideate, create, deploy and
send out sticker notifications on different, relevant user bases. Ideating part basically
includes following and spotting trends that are viral or have the potential of going
viral and creating relevant stickers on it (both animated and static). I have also
worked on creating stickers for festivals, events and days celebrated pan-India and
regionally (example -Valentine’s Day and Week, Holi, Environment Day, Ugadi, Gudi
Padwa, Pongal, Holi etc)
I have also been responsible for what goes out in other regional languages like
Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada Gujarati and Marathi.

In the last four years, I have worked on launching new products and taken end-to-
end responsibility.

Hike (Vibe 2021):
Worked on the new social application to be launched - Vibe. Responsibilities
included curating video content for an in-app feature called Big Screen. Creating and

executing notification plans for the entire app. I was also responsible for all the in-
app communications that went out to the users and app enhancements.

Rush 2021: Currently working for Rush India product team. This includes both –
handling in-app product marketing and some part of in-app product operations as
well.
Current job responsibility includes:

• Creating comms strategies for the product with personalization as the
key hook
• Being part of the PRDs being created, add inputs as per the marketing
and product needs
• Thinking of and listing down analytics events needed and be part of the
entire testing flow.
• Get events and user properties added as per the marketing needs and
use them to get users on the app and make them use the respective
features
• Take care of the in-app banner configurations
• Take care of money related offers configurations
• Keep an eye out on the overall app hygiene
• Keep an eye out on the community groups for anything wrong being
reported for the app

At The Indian Express, I did almost everything in print and digital editions. Initially with print, I did field reporting for city and feature pages with my own photos. In digital, I was in the first founding team. We worked on the website from scratch and went on to handling the backend as well as front end of the website indianexpress.com and financialexpress.com.
