Short-Bio - A physician-turned innovator who invented the world’s first pedal operated newborn resuscitation system, and founded Windmill Health (a spin out of the Stanford India Biodesign program at AIIMS and Stanford University) to develop and commercialize the product, which has since secured a CE mark, patents in India, US and Germany, has won a national award from the Hon’ble President of India and helped babies breathe in more than 10 countries. - After the product was licensed to a commercial player, returned to Academia in 2019, as Fellowship Director, School of International Biodesign at AIIMS New Delhi - mentored multidisciplinary teams of Fellows as they invented medical devices and started up companies around the same. Currently, Fellowship Director at NCAHT, AIIMS New Delhi – a multimillion dollar project I helped conceptualize from scratch. - 4 years-experience in mentoring early-stage medical innovators at India’s pioneering med-tech innovation program - Passionate about innovation and keen to leverage a diverse skillset to create social impact in health and wellness. - Keen to work with teams involved in innovation and / or refinement of products and services – developing creative strategies for growth and impact - Member drafting committee, ICMR national guidelines for innovation in medical colleges - Expert Advisor, Market Access Program, National Health Authority Key skills - Leadership of high impact lean teams operating in dynamic and uncertain environments to accomplish team objectives leveraging high levels of empathy and merging individual goals with shared goals. - Primary and secondary research: Understanding the landscape of medical practice, clinical workflow, relevant guidelines, clinical trials, patient and clinician behaviors - and the impact these can have on the viability/ scalability of any program, product or other intervention. - Drafting and refinement of program strategy and its implementation (medical and operational aspects) - Keen grasp on published medical evidence and the global conversations in the relevant professional communities - User research: Communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders such as patients, users, doctors, health systems, and others to create journey maps and understand behaviors, workflows, preferences, pain points and unmet needs - Help refine program architecture, develop engagement strategies and meaningfully engage with key stakeholders in the private and public sector for effective two-way communication - Deeply understanding the philosophies, drivers, constraints and aspirations of diverse stakeholders from clients/funders to beneficiaries and operating in alignment with the same to accomplish shared goals. - Effective communication with international funding bodies based in India and North America. - Development, execution and coordination of experiential and entrepreneurial training programs in the public health space for young professionals in cross-disciplinary teams - Selection, recruitment and mentoring of multidisciplinary teams focused on social impact through research and innovation - Knowledge sharing and management responsive to project demands - Collaboration with grassroots workers and leaders to promote lasting learning, adaptation and behaviour change. - Meaningful engagement with government stakeholders - As a med-tech innovator and startup founder, I have a diverse skill-set and leadership experience, the above represents a select subset of the same which I consider may be of general relevance
