Currently employed with Adani Ports & SEZ and based at Vizhinjam port ( SW coast of India) as a full tonnage harbour pilot. Worked with Adani Krishnapatnam port for 5 year being transferred to Adani Vizhinjam port through internal transfer. Krishnapatnam is a deep draught port and accommodates vessels with drafts upto 17.7 mtrs. Began my sea career with Shipping Corporation of India, Mumbai(India) as a deck cadet in 1998. Possess Command experience(Ship captain) of Commercial Ocean Going container ships with competence in Navigation, Ship Handling, Cargo Operations & Calculations. Managed work schedules of ship staff and supervision of other crew. During the course of my shipping career, I have been employed on various types of ships – General Cargo, Crude Oil tanker, fully refrigerated Very Large Gas carriers and Container ships. Having worked in the shipping industry for 21 years, I have developed a wide range of skills that would meet expectations of shipping related businesses/ maritime organisations. Possess good experience in managing shipboard operations and ensuring safety of crew / vessel / environment while working under challenging circumstances / hostile weather conditions. Responsible for the maintenance and operation of the vessel according to the guidelines stated in the Company’s operational manuals / fleet directives / international rules and regulations. Overseeing the maintenance of life saving, fire- fighting, deck and lifting equipment in addition to maintaining the exterior of the vessel. Running scheduled maintenance checks on deck machinery / navigational equipments and cargo / ballast systems. Responding to equipment failure alerts and repairing faults. Risk Management Training and activities including Loss prevention & loss minimization. Inspection of tanks and cargo holds for checking the structural integrity of the vessel. Carrying out load line surveys, Cargo ship safety surveys and routine inspection and testing of all critical equipments/machinery to ensure operational readiness at all times. Responsible to ensure that all local and international laws related to vessel operation are being followed and all pollution regulations are being met.
