Projects

Fabrication of biocompatible Hydrogel through improved freeze thaw method, Polyvinyl alcohol gels are candidate materials in various tissue engineering applications as scaffold materials, as drug delivery systems, as barriers. The main problem is that arising here of its mechanical properties. It is hypothesized that modification of fabrication method leads to synthesize a hybrid hydrogel with better mechanical properties. In this study, a new method was developed to synthesize the hydrogel. The new fabrication method blended with hot mixing, freeze thaw and annealing can provide a gel with better mechanical properties. The developed hydrogel was studied by Rheology, DSC (Differential scanning colorimetry) and creep analysis was conducted. Swelling and gel fraction was evaluated as a function of PVA and PEG. It was observed that formed hydrogel show better creep resistance and the rheological analysis indicates that good mechanical properties. Gel fraction evaluates hoe the mole fraction was affected by changing the concentration of ingredients.
