I am currently working as an Administrative Officer Decision Maker at the British High Commission, New Delhi. In my position, I am responsible for assessing the UK visa applications for Indians and nationals from South and South-East Asia. Over the past six years, I have gained ample experience in the field of end-to-end processing of visa applications, data management and as a team leader
I would describe myself as someone who is highly focused, motivated, resilient, and can see the bigger picture. I have gained the experience to take the role of the Visa Officer to the next level. Core responsibilities:
· Assess visit visa applications from Thailand, China, and India within the agreed customer service standards
· Pre-assessed Points Based Applications and Settlement category visas according to the immigration rules
· During the COVID pandemic, many ECOs worked from home. As a proactive team player, I uploaded all decisions onto our database to ensure the work was cleared daily
· 10% of my duty involves using the allocation tool to ensure the correct visa applications are allocated to the Entry Clearance Officers for assessing
· Interview applicants using Microsoft Teams for EEA Family Permits applications
· Initiate and conduct student visa interviews
· Participate in Enrichment Team activities to support verification of supporting documents with high harm indicators
· Deliver document forgery training for new team members
· Provide training and mentor new staff in the visa section
· Stakeholder engagement with Commercial Partners (VFS) and Sheffield colleagues on visa related concerns
· Maintain an integrity and security awareness
· Implement training for Diplomat academy course
