I'm responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of escalators. Their role requires a combination of mechanical, electrical, and safety expertise to ensure the safe and efficient operation of these complex machines. Key duties include diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, performing regular maintenance to prevent breakdowns, and adhering to strict safety protocols. Escalator technicians must possess strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and good communication skills to interact with clients and team members effectively. Continuous learning and adaptability are essential in this role due to the evolving technology and safety standards in the industry.
• Develop and manage the maintenance schedule to ensure regular inspections and servicing of all escalators.
• Assign tasks to maintenance technicians and ensure they have the tools and resources needed.
• Oversee the work of technicians to ensure maintenance tasks are performed to a high standard.
• Address escalated issues or complex problems that technicians may encounter.
• Provide ongoing training to technicians on the latest maintenance techniques, safety protocols, and equipment.
• Replace Faulty materials like Brake units,Handrail Belt, Handrail Shaft, Return Shaft and Shaft Bearings etc..
• Conducting regular inspections of electrical components, such as motors, wiring, and control systems, to ensure they are functioning properly.
• Replacing or repairing faulty electrical components, like burnt-out motors or faulty wiring.
•Ensuring all safety systems are functioning, such as emergency stop buttons, power cutoff systems, and grounding.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Repair and replace parts of machines and system including motors,motor starters, VFD,
relay, timers, breakers, emergency lighting, conduit formations, circuitry and PLC
Controllers.
• Troubleshoot the complex machines and systems using electrical schematics and
Knowledge of troubleshooting tactics.
