• Responsible for configuring and managing the storage and Backup infrastructure that supports the environment. This includes provisioning storage resources, optimizing storage utilization, and implementing data deduplication and compression techniques.
• Responsible for planning and designing the backup infrastructure using Commvault software. This involves creating backup policies, defining retention periods, and establishing backup schedules.
• Monitoring the performance of backup processes and identify areas for improvement. This involves analyzing backup metrics, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing performance-tuning measures to enhance backup efficiency and reduce backup windows.
• Ensuring that data is protected and in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements. This includes implementing security measures, encryption, and access controls to safeguard backup data.
• Responsible for designing and implementing disaster recovery strategies using Commvault tools. This involves defining recovery point objectives (RPOs) and recovery time objectives (RTOs), conducting regular disaster recovery tests and documenting recovery procedures. • Investigating and resolving backup-related issues, such as failed backups, restore failures, or performance degradation. This may involve working with vendors, analyzing log files, and applying patches or updates to the backup software.
• Maintaining documentation of backup procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps. Additionally, generates regular reports on backup status, storage utilization, and performance metrics to keep stakeholders informed.
• Collaboration with IT teams, such as Cloud infrastructure, network, and application teams, to ensure backup requirements are met.
Sharing expertise with team members and providing training on backup best practices and procedures.

• Collaborated with the Infrastructure Head to ensure the backup platforms aligned with Stakeholders' needs and expectations, while delivering the necessary level of protection and restore capability to meet business recovery goals such as Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs).
• Operationalized accurate and published backup service catalogues, documented and maintained operational knowledge within the organization, and facilitated good practice operational activities through our offshore team. This included tasks such as job failure alerting, response/test restores, and other relevant activities.
• Provided storage expertise specific to Commvault backup products to the broader IT organization, offering support to group companies as needed.
• Ensured comprehensive backup coverage encompassed the required scope of data, while striving to achieve RPO and RTO targets in the event of a failure.
• Took ownership of incidents requiring Commvault operational resources, overseeing their resolution and ensuring their smooth progression.
• Maintained an active engagement with suppliers and vendors, staying informed about the latest developments in hardware and software platforms. This allowed for continuous improvement within Maersk, maximizing investments in existing platforms.
• Conducted regular reviews of backup systems to identify potential risks, managing and mitigating them accordingly. Additionally, ensured the supportability of backup platforms for ongoing effectiveness.

• Managed backup infrastructure for a US-based client using Commvault Simpana 11.0, Azure (MARS), Rubrik, and DDboost.
• Provided 24x7x365 backup support for Events backup environment.
• Managed incidents and processes through the Fresh Desk ticketing tool as needed.
• Performed daily checks, monitoring drive capacity, service packs, and patches on backup servers.
• Monitoring daily backup status, data replication of remote sites, handling tape changes, troubleshooting tape libraries and drives, resolving missing files and directories, disaster recovery, and other backup-related activities.

• A member of the data center operations team was managing backup infrastructure for a client that had over 3,000 servers running mixed workloads (VMs, databases, NAS, Exchange, and SAP applications).
• In addition, provided L2 support to DC operations team to troubleshoot server related issues and to assist in DC activities like installation, troubleshooting network related issues etc.
• Was performed Commvault V8 to V9 migration and configured CS DR with SQL Log shipping.
