The semi-permanent project implemented at PHC Sec-11, Hiranmagri (Machla Magra), Udaipur ranked 1st in Rajasthan under the NQAS survey conducted under National Health Mission in Rajasthan.

Key Responsibilities Performed

  • Worked on documenting various kinds of reports including Monthly Progress Reports, Stakeholder Engagement Reports, Yearly Program Assessment Reports mapping project progress as well as mapping communications and interactions done with concerned stakeholders
  • Covered in detail about the events held along with their media coverages
  • Worked on preparing various kinds of supporting and strategic documents for the project for mapping the works
  • Supported team in organizing various kinds of activities/events/workshops including the Capacity Building Workshops, Urban95 Udaipur Kids Festival

Success Achieved

  • Was able to mobilize few rag pickers in Ajmer city with the Municipal Corporation's management of Door to Door waste collection.
  • Was able to organize the closure workshop in Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) which was attended by more than 50 Chief Municipal Officers of Jabalpur Division. The project learnings and deep insights were shared during the workshop which capacitated them for adopting the learnings gained.

Responsibilities Performed

  • Interacted and coordinated with the local Authority and the stakeholders for project works/approvals as well as for organising various activities.
  • Actively involved in conducting focused group discussions in Ajmer with various stakeholders including the rag pickers community, staff of the door to door waste collection service, officials from Municipal COrporation etc.
  • Conducted detailed discussions with the team handling the solid waste management
  • Conducted detailed study of the rag pickers in Ajmer and multiple rounds of discussions were carried with them
  • Worked on strategies to include the rag pickers in the mainstream of solid waste management
  • Worked on the toolkit prepared under the project with the team and worked on the same for Ajmer city (SWM sector)
  • Conducted ground level surveys with reference to solid waste management in the selected ward followed by detailed analysis

Responsibilities Performed

  • Organized Stakeholder Workshop in Ajmer in which IUWM toolkit session was also conducted.
  • Developed IEC material for the pilot project.
  • Conducted IEC activities regarding the waste segregation in the selected ward along with the training of the municipal staff
  • Organized drawing and painting competition in three schools in Ajmer to promote waste segregation.
  • Setup a compost facility in the selected ward.
  • Training of the city Municipal Staff handling waste management at the city level for waste segregation.
  • Supported in preparation of the action plan for the city.

Project Name - Adopting Integrated Urban Water Management in Indian Cities (Adopt IUWM) in Kishangarh and Jaisalmer in Rajasthan Year: March’13-March’17

Success Achieved

  • Initiated and implemented Door to Door Waste Collection model in Kishangarh city in two wards of the city in close coordination with the local authority in 2016. Waste segregation was done at three levels including collection of revenue. Got awarded at the District level Program for the efforts laid in the city.
  • City replicated the model for the whole city and all the wards were covered under the Door to Door Waste Collection system in 2017.

Responsibilities Performed

  • Closely coordinated with the officials from Municipal Council Kishangarh & Municipal Council Jaisalmer and the concerned stakeholders from the city.
  • Organized workshops in the project cities, successfully carried on stakeholder consultations, and carried active discussions in cities.
  • Worked on drafting, making analysis of the project reports for both the cities
  • Actively interacted with the State Government Department officials including Principal Secretary, Local Self Government Department, and Directorate of Local Bodies, Government of Rajasthan for the project reporting and approvals.
  • Implemented Pilot projects in both the Project cities which helped cities to replicate as well as scaled them up. Fully lead the pilot project implementation in Kishangarh city.
  • Undertaken water quality and monitoring workshops in these cities which has helped cities to improve their services
  • Worked for the IEC activity material and also undertaken the IEC activities in the cities with interaction of the local organizations, local authority and the district administration.

Brief

The Local Self Government Department, Government of Rajasthan, with support from the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India, the United Nations Environment Programme, the European Commission, ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability - South Asia and Municipalika, organized two day workshop focusing on initiatives taken by cities under the flagship programmes of Smart Cities and Swachh Bharat Mission.

650 representatives from 190 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in Rajasthan participated in the workshop and discussed opportunities, challenges and the way forward to meet the goals of the Swachh Bharat Mission.

Responsibility Performed

Was involved in organizing the workshop with taking care of invitations, attending high level officials, making sure the participation of project city officials from Rajasthan.

Training Program Brief

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA)   has engaged National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) to conduct series of   Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) solid waste management exposure workshops in   the country. NIUA in partnership with ICLEI South Asia conducted these   capacity building workshops in Rajasthan.

Responsibilities   performed :

· Successfully   coordinated with Directorate of Local Bodies Jaipur (DLB Jaipur) to organise   the training program in Jaipur. City Commissioner and staff of the local   bodies of Rajasthan attended the training program.

· Coordinated the   field visits under the training program to the waste management sites in   Jaipur.
