  • Software Based Thermostat : Have deployed an innovative solution(algorithm) which runs inside the IOT controller and automates the action on the controllable, adapts to the user requirements for maintaining thermal comfort inside the room while saving energy drastically of the Air Handling Unit. It has optimized 70 percent in energy savings of the air handling units and successfully optimized the comfort of the user as per requirement.
  • Benchmarking and improving system reliability : Have lead this project to develop the tool for initial IOT controller log analytics to find the root cause of the failures in the system. My work has brought significant improvement in the key functionalities of the product and isolated failures and their associated context.
    Built an automated reporting service that regularly updated the developers and the stakeholders of the reliability of the system on slack and Google sheet. Deployed the service on the Kubernetes cluster with the service uptime to be 99%. Have developed visualizations using Plotly and analyzed the data using effective manipulations to produce actionable insights for the developers and the system architect to improve the product, it's reliability and effectiveness in optimizing energy consumption in the assets. Visualized and reported the cost leakages and improved structure in the logs to the Product development team.
  • ML based energy and efficiency predictions : Developed an ML model which predicts the efficiency and consumption effectively using XGboost algorithm and tuned it using Mango library for hyperparameter optimization.
  • Python Dash based Log Analytics Dashboard : This dashboard allows to see custom logs of the system which help in diagnosing the faulty software and hardware deployments in IOT controllers. They give direct feedback on reliability of the system, the controller uptime and data inconsistency. It is used by developers to diagnose and conduct root cause analysis, make custom reports and give feedback on testing of IOT based product on site.
    Deployed the same on Kubernetes with performance caching implemented for conducting large queries effectively.
  • Query Engine : Lead the team in developing Query Engine Microservice which is developed in GoLang and has the capability to query large datasets effectively and handle concurrent requests effectively. Used it to power data-intensive applications, optimizing data querying time by smart database selection feature and reducing cost.

Accomplishments

Published Research Paper titled "The end of Dumb HVAC Assets" in AEEE. Deployed a lightweight algorithm(developed in Python) running inside the IOT controller which has brought 70 efficiency in the Air Handling Units in the HVAC while maintaining the ambient thermal comfort. Have written the algorithm from scratch and designed the data science and software architecture for the same. It gives the user the capability to fine-tune the system to maximise energy savings.
