The Delivery Manager Database Administrator (DBA) drives the delivery and improvement of Services for the Database management part of Business Services in line with business requirements and expectations, budget and service levels and the execution and the improvement of Service processes and focuses on operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Technical Responsibilities:

· Overall Service owner for database services in Azure & AWS: Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Azure Database for MySQL, Azure CosmosDB & Azure Synapse Analytics
Amazon RDS- Amazon Aurora, SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, MariaDB & PostgreSQL & Amazon Redshift.

· Design, implement and administer databases on MS SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008, 2008R2, 2012, 2014 to 2016, 2017 & 2019 platforms for OLTP & OLAP.

· Leading, planning and implementing large scale Enterprise level migration projects

· Modernizing data warehouse with Amazon Redshift & Azure Synapse Analytics

· Data Catalog Migration (on-premises) Apache Hadoop Cluster to Amazon EMR

· Big Data Architecture & Planning & Designing Data Lakes

· Data Governance – Implementation PII Data De-identification project in Amazon Data lake (DIDL)

· Planned, designed, architected & implemented High Availability & Disaster Recovery of Databases with Always On and Distributed availability groups

· Consulting and resolving- database-application performance issues

· Plan for capacity, performance and service availability of all servers and storage in line with business needs

· Migration of databases to AWS/Microsoft Azure cloud- On-Premise to Amazon Aurora MySQL, Oracle to PostgreSQL/Azure Database as a service, etc.

· Provides technical and operational database administration.

· Set installation standards, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security, availability and integrity of the company databases and large data warehouse database environments.

· Applies knowledge in the area of physical database design, performance and tuning, backup and recovery procedures in order to resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.

· Provide support resolving conversion and upgrade data issues. Liaise with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Developers for the definition and clarification of requirements and to facilitate the progress on project tasks.

Functional Responsibilities:

· Ensures that internal parties and service providers deliver services as per agreed budget and performance levels, contribute to and incorporate these services in the end to end services to be delivered to the customers. This with the help of peers in the global delivery organization.

· Manages the lifecycle of MOL’s relational & Non-relational databases.

· The Delivery Manager-DBA interacts with projects and service providers to ensure company policies and procedures are followed with the area of relational database management.

· DBA actively monitor and set direction for automation within the field.

· People Management, Escalation Management & Performance Management

· Recruit, select, develop, supervise and evaluate a team of DBAs who possess and are growing in the personal qualities, technical/professional competence, communication skills, and service orientation required to excel in support of both educational and operational effectiveness.

· Work with executive team, peers and subordinates to develop an annual budget that realistically reflects planning and policy decisions and optimizes access to and reliability of educational technology, IT systems and connectivity/productivity tools.

· Incident Management: Keeping systems up and running, by applying a controlled process of

· registering, monitoring and resolving of application related tickets

· Ensuring IM process compliance for area of responsibility

· Play an active role in the CAB / Change Advisory Board
