Direct Taxation

• Preparation and filing of Income tax return of the AMC and the Trustee Company.
• Computation of quarterly Advance tax on the basis of business plan and estimate of the other business department.
• Reviewed submissions made in response to notices received from the income tax department.
• Reviewed foreign remittances from a direct tax perspective. This involved analyzing various tax treaties to check if the benefit of DTAA could be given to the non-residents, foreign companies.
• Conducted tax advisory calls/meetings internally with assignees to brief them on the tax implications of proposed foreign remittances.
• Recommended management of the tax treaty benefit that could be availed to avoid excess withholding of taxes on income received from outside India.
• Worked on different sections and forms of the Income Tax Act and RBI, i.e. Form 67, Form 69, disallowance under section 14A, and filing of Foreign Liability Asset Return of AMC & Trustee Company.

Financial Controller

• Responsible for preparation and reporting of monthly and quarterly MIS to Prudential entity.
• Preparation of financial statement of the Trustee Company. This also involved expense analysis and discussing those with the management, comparative analysis of accounting policies with peer companies.
• Responsible for taking routine investment decisions of the available surplus funds of the Trustee Company.
• Making dividend recommendation for Trustee Company to the management.
• Independently handled Transfer Pricing Audit of the AMC and Statutory Audit of the Trustee Company.
• Computation of quarterly net worth for internal and external requirement (SEBI Mutual Fund Regulations, Companies Act and IFSCA Regulations)
• Timely, accurate, and qualitative preparation of business operation notes for quarterly Audit Committee and Board meetings.
