IOTA caters to provisioning of Firmware Upgrades Over-The-Air (FOTA) by delivering the manifest wrapped with the targeted firmware part binaries in place as response to TCU. These binaries shall be downloaded and installed onto the TCU vehicle modules relatively.
Likewise, IOTA Business App Service further supports Software Upgrades Over-The-Air (SOTA) business process in the same way by delivering the manifest wrapped with the targeted software part binaries in place as response to SYNC3 Non-Nav requests being initiated from the vehicle automatically based on ignition cycles and regular time intervals with unlimited retries to aid potential software updates to SYNC3 Infotainment modules. The same process had been extended to support SYNC3 Nav enabled vehicles to provision Map Upgrades Over-The-Air (MOTA) business process in the form of chunk updates per region (NA/EU) wherever the vehicle is being commuted to, in that region.
Another miniature type infotainment-cum broadcasting module in the radar that encompasses the SOTA business process by leveraging IOTA App services – Connected Touch Radio (CTR).
