  • Lead the Global Business Development team based in Mumbai, with key responsibilities including in-licensing novel, patented, or unique products from innovators across the world, identifying and acquiring company or brand technology opportunities for mankind, and managing alliance management, with the additional responsibility of handling the Business Ethics Compliance team.
  • Executed Mankind's first MNC partnership with Novartis and In-Licensed their novel, patented Heart Failure product - Valsartan / Sacubitril formulation from Novartis.
  • Executed an exclusive licensing agreement with AstraZeneca for their flagship inhalation brand Symbicort, a first of its kind for AstraZeneca.
  • Partnered with Novartis for the semi-exclusive promotion and distribution of their novel lipid management drug, Inclisiran, a medical breakthrough for the treatment of cholesterol.
  • Concluded marketing collaboration with Takeda for their novel anti-ulcerant drug, Vonoprazone.
  • Partnered with multiple major Indian pharma companies, such as Zydus Cadila, Biocon, DRL, Lupin, Hetero, Enzene Biopharma, and Reliance Life Sciences, etc. and many other CMOs in India for supply of various drug formulations.
  • Major focus on Chinese Innovator companies for In-Licensing novel molecules developed by Chinese companies. Discussions are underway at various stages with many innovator pharma companies from China for multiple NCEs, NBEs, etc.
  • Established Mankind Pharma as a potential partner with major MNCs like Novartis, Pfizer, MSD, AstraZeneca, Sanofi, Sandoz, and in discussion with a number of multinational companies from geographies such as the US, China, South Korea, Taiwan, the EU, etc., for In-Licensing & M&A opportunities.
  • Conducted road shows in the U.S., showcasing Mankind Pharma's capabilities to potential investment banking companies.
  • Continuous efforts to look for growth opportunities in OTC, D2C markets, pet care, vet medicine, etc.
  • Performed comprehensive research and data analysis, and led mankind's quest for synergistic acquisitions that involved asset valuations, structuring deal terms, etc. Evaluated multiple potential opportunities through the investment banking network.
  • Worked with cross-functional teams such as finance, commercial, R&D, manufacturing, quality, and legal in order to carry out due diligence of BD and acquisition opportunities.
  • Set-up the entire framework, process and policy and lead the Business Ethics Compliance office of Mankind Pharma that manages company personnel interaction with HCPs for marketing initiatives.

  • Lead the team that was responsible for various activities with respect to business development, such as screening, lead generation, target identification, business case development, due diligence, deal structuring, negotiation, transition planning, and alliance management.
  • Identified in-licensing opportunities that had revenue potential of more than $400 million for the India region.
  • In-licensed and managed a portfolio comprising more than 20 partners, totaling $200 million in sales for the Indian market. These products included novel, patented products from multinationals, biosimilars, medical devices, value-added generics, and products based on NDDS.
  • Lead the New Product development committee that comprised of cross-functional teams to oversee and ensure timely launch of New Products across therapy areas and divisions.
  • Effectively negotiated and finalised partnering contracts with multiple Innovators, CMOs and Bio-similar manufacturers.
  • Helped Lupin successfully identify a local commercial partner in Sri Lankan market and ensured successful completion of product registration that enabled Lupin to begin their sales and marketing journey in Sri Lanka.
  • Vast experience of concluding various commercial agreements including Co-Marketing/ Exclusive Marketing, In-Licensing, Third Party Manufacturing, M&A deals, Trade mark assignments etc.
  • Explored business adjacencies for Lupin India business and finalised the business plan for foray into IVF Centers business and a couple of more in the pipeline.
  • Participated in multiple Partner events and conferences like (BIO USA, CPHI) looking for strategic potential partners for pipeline assets.
