Completed dissertation program as a part of academic curriculum in 4th semester of M.Sc Microbiology, at The Department of Microbiology, M.S University of Baroda, under esteemed guidance of Dr. Archana Gayatri, on the topic “Development of a hemi-nested PCR protocol for the detection of deinococcus spp and studies on the effect of Cd(II) & Mn(II) on stress recovery in Deinococcus radiodurans R1”

Accomplishments

  • Development of Rifamycin B fermentation at lab and pilot scale and working on scale-up of process at commercial scale
  • Strain improvement of Tacrolimus from low producing (40 mg/L) strain to high producing (1000 mg /L) strain
  • Development and standardization of Bioassay method for Tacrolimus and Sirolimus which has significantly increased the efficiency of screening more number of mutants in low / negligible cost as compared to HPLC analysis
  • Media optimization and strain improvement for Daunorubicin has contributed a major breakthrough in the progress of our organization. Doubling production capacity in same infra-structure and other related costs
  • Strain improvement of Sirolimus from low producing (10 mg/L) strain to high producing (280 mg/L) strain
  • Strain improvement of Daptomycin from low producing (50 mg/L) strain to high producing (1600 g /L)
  • Strain improvement of a strict anaerobic bacterium which can ferment lignocellulosic waste to ethanol, a collaborative project with an American well known Biofuel company
  • Involved in health and nutrition project, and mainly working for the development of animal probiotics
  • High yield of Bio CNG achieved using agriculture biomass, by novel Biological pretreatment and Biomethanation process development
  • Removal of allergen protein - Anti nutritional factor from soybean meal, used as animal feed
  • New Bacteriocin development, which is a replacement for antibiotics
